OK, thanks to friends I'm trying out Dreamwidth before getting a paid account. I'm hopeful, after some of the odd turns LJ has made.

I think it's a good step :) LJ has grown away from what it once was.

Aye, it has. I'm not going to switch over myself unless/until there's a mass exodus from LJ, but I definitely want to keep this as an option just in case.
