Oiled Bear

Just got through re-sealing the wooden bear I've had for fifteen years - you know, one of those carved from a large log with a chainsaw?

Her name is Artemis (natch), she stands about 5' tall and weighs as much as a refrigerator. Sculpted by Terry Boquist (only reason I still know that is because she's signed), she was aquired at Scarbrough Faire, and except for a brief period in storage while moving away from Verdun has always been in my home. She's by the front used-as-back door (we use the 'back' door through the garden as the front door).

Looking good again, and a lot of memories there.

The Crocker Art Museum in Sacramento has an exhibit of Gerald Heffernon's Humanimals through August 22 ... looks interesting

"When you mix guinea pigs and cats, it's cute," Shields says. "But when you introduce the human element - mixing dogs and humans or rabbits and humans - it becomes disturbing."

Obviously the reviewer doesn't see much furry stuff.
