The new picture of the week is up.

21 October 2007 Trail of Whispering Giants Sculptor Peter Wolf Toth travelled across the US from 1972 to 1988, creating some seventy sculptures honoring Native Americans, leaving at least one in each state. While some have been removed due to damage, most are still on public display. This particular sculpture is Toth's sixth, standing in western Pennsylvania. The accompanying plaque reads: "Dedicated to the American Indians (Seneca) ... but they won't be forgotten, but will be remembered in our minds and in our hearts. Love is life. Peter Toth, June 30, 1973" Location: 41° 10' 52.1" N, 80° 30' 08.4" W

I literally stumbled across this member of the Trail of Whispering Giants at a rest stop on Interstate 80, just south of Sharon, Pennsylvania, while running errands in the area. I know we've talked about the Giants in my journal before, but a (very) quick search didn't find the post.

It's supposedly in Broken Bow, in front of the forest heritage center at Beavers Bend State Park ... giant number 30.
