The new picture of the week is up.

22 July 2007 Teeth! (and underskull) Remember we were making molds of a new sculpture? Well, here's the underskull for it. The teeth and gums haven't been dirtied up yet, but this gives you another little tease. It'll have it's public debut in two weeks, then we'll have pictures of it up here.

Now they're caught up :)

*ggiggle* A bit moreso than I expect the final project will be.

(Makes me think in gest about a horror theme park with a bunch of these running around and someone making the comment "...Wellllll, they were going to be werewolves... but we got this far and thought "Whoh! werewolves have NOTHING on THIS", and so we stopped there. " )

I do admit, the interrum stages of suit/costume making do make for some frightening mid-stage photos ;)

*HUGS* Looks good. Out of curisity, what is that made of.. looks like fiberglass.... *sniffsniff* ... . o O (oh, wait..its a photo)

It's fiberglass cloth, but the same two-part Smooth-on clearcast resin the teeth are made from. The process is as messy (and a bit slower) than regular fiberglass resin, but it doesn't outgas like fiberglass. Plus, I can color the resin, so I don't have to paint it afterwards :)

Btw... I _really_ hope your projects result in less cussing and fussing than I seem to go through. This past week seems to have been a total effort in frusteration for me. A true 'two steps forward, one step back' sort of thing.
And the sculpture that I put so much time into to get right, has major flaws in it that I find only after the fact (man if that isnt a moral boost I dont know what is)

I'm thinking my next effort to sculpt something is going to be done with some sort of laser projected grid :P
