John Inman, British stage and televison actor, has passed away. You may remember him as Mr. Humphries of Are You Being Served? fame.

I cried. :<
I saw him live. He gave a short story (that was funny) and then he answered questions from the audience. I got his autograph and he shook my hand. He was charming and just as wonderful in real life as on TV.
I always hoped to get to see him again on stage. I'm glad I got to meet him tho.

I echo that. John Inman visited my station a few years ago during a pledge drive. I talked with him at length in our newsroom, and he was absolutely one of the kindest and friendliest people you'll ever meet. And even flamier than Mr Humphries, if you can believe that. Right down to the ascot. ;)

It was during a pledge drive at my local PBS station that they had a 'Meet Mr Inman' thing. He seemed like the sort that would be fun to talk to at length. You're quite lucky you got the chance :)
I had noticed how he was flamier than on TV and that amused me to no end. *g*
It always interests me to see what an actor brings to a character and after seeing how he acted IRL it was quite interesting to see what was elements were him and what elements were the character. (if that makes sense).
