I always found it fascinating the Lakota oral tradition (judged by some anthropologists as being 10,000 years old) have a place in their myths and legends for "giant lizard monsters" whose descriptions spell D-I-N-O-S-A-U-R to me.

How did a people who should not have existed 65m years ago have known of such creatures? Is it pure coincidence they have a racial memory of long-extinct creatures? Or are they talking about dragons (which nobody can say ever existed, therefore cannot say when they became extinct)?

These creatures are basically the epitome of evil, but not known to be seen by people in modern times (that is, after the time of when spirits were well known to them). They are called Untehila. They are the offspring of an evil spirit, Unk.
