Friday . . .

Saw The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ... it's watchable, and though I'm not familar with the graphic novel it's based on, it really felt like it had been sanitized excessively. All the 'good' characters had some dark elements - some *very* dark - but it all seemed to be glossed over. That's too bad, as it would have made the characters far more interesting. Fairly good (and consistant) FX work with very uneven storytelling. It's watchable - but it's nowhere near as good as Pirates, either.

League is about as enjoyable as the Wild Wild West movie if the humor was left at a 'G' level.

I did get several giggles overhearing folks in the audience mis-identifying Dorian Gray as everything from Jack the Ripper to Edgar Allen Poe.
