And, in the news today, just so you know there are non-American idiots as well ... British white supremacist party (mistakenly) hires black DJ for Christmas party. Best quote from the article - "There was a bit of a cock-up. The chap who booked him didn't realise. The DJ sounded white on the phone." Unlike how it would have played out in the U.S., the DJ entertained throughout the party with no harassment from partygoers.

On the other paw, though - Alabama Judge Wears Ten Commandments on Robe. The Ten Commandments, embroidered in gold, in letters big enough to be read by anyone near the judge. Dignified, I guess, as long as the cat doesn't laugh at it. Wish we had a picture, though. Does that make him an activist judge, BTW?

Korea - Four members of a religious cult that believes in resurrection and eternal life are under investigation for burying their leader alive by sealing him in an underground room and pouring concrete over the entrance. Police yesterday uncovered the decomposed body of the 54-year-old leader.

Good grief.. is that judge going to be wielding a staff and beard next?

*sigh* And to think, whilst the US may have lost the services of Ashcroft, there's now the newly-elevated Gonzales in his place..

Forget constitutional amendments to define words in a language - how about guaranteeing any state the right to leave the union, upon a 2/3 majority vote in a referendum?
