Uh, they've obviously changed a lot. Back when I used to work there ('00 or so), not only were pictures of dogs allowed on the Mountain View campus, but actual dogs themselves. You were allowed to bring your pets to work as long as they did not cause disruption.
I used to sit in the cafeteria of Building 1 and watch employees play with their dogs on the campus lawns.
One guy from Hotmail Ops had this aged bulldog that'd carefully walk behind his owner while holding a rubber bone squeak toy in her muzzle. I never saw that dog without her toy.
Of course, stupid little rules like that are a part of why I left; Corporate monoculture was invading Hotmail as they were being integrated tighter into the Microsoft Collective, and the distinct Bay Area culture was fading fast as more of Seattle politics took over.
I bet you can't even walk around openly with alcohol anymore and beer bashes are a thing of the past.
What. The. Fuck? If somebody would feel that threatened by a picture of a dog, then they have some serious issues. This makes me really glad I don't work for some Microsoft/Dilbert/Office Space type entity. I'm sure their rules would ban any reference to my fursona as well.
