ysengrin: Yep, that's me. (shy-wolf)
Blew away the old database on the big wiki, re-created it with the (now available) correct character formatting as the default, and loaded it from a dump of the test database. Everything looks good!

Now to make a quick backup. Later today I'll start working on moving the wikis to the new host, starting with the littlest one. *Last* time I updated, a year ago, I made sure all three wikis have exactly the same extensions installed and their LocalSettings.php all have the same base boilerplate. That'll make setup on the new host a breeze, once I get the first one done (and take notes about what I had to do to get it working).

Only thing that might be a problem is the bundled Lua on one of the extensions. I'm not certain how much of a hassle to get the Lua binary marked as executable on the new host, since it's shared hosting.

I also need to do some chores around the house, finish up two jobs in the workshop, go shop for some landscaping plants and *eat something*.

EDIT: Wow - the big database dropped in size by almost 55%. It all seems to still be there, though!

EDIT the second: Gah! The smallest database went from a zipped size of 2.4MB to 55.9MB. Something off in there, even though the wiki associated with it is running fine. Dug into it and the l10n_cache had over two million entries; since it's generated as needed I emptied it.

The the smallest wiki up on the new host ... I was surprised that I could set the bundled Lua to execute - but it chokes on some particulars of that web server. It's uncommon but it happens - the workaround is to use a proper install of Lua. The Lua that's supposed to be pre-installed on the web server doesn't seem to be there ... ticket opened.

Close, close. If I get this resolved there'll be no problem getting all three wikis up and running.
