A single point of failure

Work on an electrical substation will have power cut off for a nearby town for at least eight hours. But, hey, it's only 3,400 customers. Guess there's nothing in place to route around that substation.

On top of that, I'm amused that a representative of the electric company needed to tell those customers "appliances using electricity will not work during the outage." That could just be paraphrasing by the reporter, though.
