Things that go bump in the night ...

So, about 1:19am -- I looked at the clock -- I woke up to what I thought was someone walking down from the second floor, at least the last couple of steps. No biggie, thought I, DarkFang was just coming down for a drink or a snack, and I lay there listening to movement in the kitchen, ending with the sharp *clink* of a plate or glass being set down on the tile countertop. A couple of minutes later I clearly hear someone briskly walking back up the stairs, almost at a run. All the foot-sounds were consistent with someone barefoot or in socks, I couldn't see any of the path from where I sleep, and I thought no more about it and went back to sleep.

This morning I asked DarkFang about it (maybe hoping to tweak him for sneaking a slice of pie in the middle of the night). Surprise -- he said it wasn't him, though he remembers waking up about 2am.
