I came across a reference to a story in the Guardian about someone (or someones) raiding hutches, killing and draining the rabbits of blood.
One line stood out: "The task force is looking into the possibility that the rabbits were being targeted using the online mapping programme Google Earth."
Last time I looked at part of Germany in Google Earth, it was fairly low rez. Finding a house, let alone a rabbit hutch, would have been a challenge. Figuring that the task force was suffering from tech-panic, I fired the app up and checked out Dortmund.
Well, Google Earth in that area is now as high rez as the Bay area. Here's a much reduced screen shot, and you can easily see the horses and pick out the German Shepard sized dog.
