Another one bites the dust ...

Orlando, FL - A Florida tourist landmark since 1996 has closed its doors forever and will be sold at an absolute auction slated for February, 12th.

Skull Kingdom, Orlando Haunted Castle, has entertained millions of guests but the owners say the International Drive real estate is worth too much to continue as a haunted attraction.

Odd memories about that place. I never visited it myself, but we found out about plans for it as Lance was putting out feelers about opening a second Verdun Manor (or relocating, I forget) in the Orlando area. He decided having two major haunts opening so close together, both in time and location, was just too risky. Skull Kingdom was just about to publically announce they were coming at the time. I know Lance made it out to see 'em after they opened.

Yvonne De Carlo (Lily Munster, among many, many other roles) passed away Monday, preceeded by Fred Gwynne (Herman Munster, d. 1993) and Al Lewis (Grandpa, d. 2006). That leaves Butch Patrick, Beverly Owen and Patrica Priest as the surviving major characters.

Carolyn Jones (Mortica Addams from the Addams Family TV series from the same time period) had passed away roughly twenty-three years ago.
