The new picture of the week is up.

04 September 2005 Ysengrin stands between two massive redwoods at Henry Cowell Redwoods State Park, just south of Felton (and farther south of San Jose, or farther southeast of San Francisco if you need bigger cities for landmarks). These two old-growth redwoods are likely over 1500 years old. Ysengrin is six feet tall, to give you an idea of the size of the two redwoods. The linked picture is more dramatic than the thumbnail, too.

This one's a day early. The redwoods are far more impressive in person, but my little digital camera can't do them justice.

dark_fang is making a new mold for a new head as I type; the first mold cracked, so all we could pull from it was the master the new mold is being made from. Another of our molds cracked earlier this week - without warning - but all the orders for the item had been pulled before it cracked, and new orders for it are being told it'll be four to five weeks before they can be filled so we can make a new mold from the masters. What is it with Ultracal molds cracking all of a sudden?

I'm very tempted to put up a page of my New Orleans / French Quarter pictures from a few years ago.

Anne Rice is still alive, for those of you who were concerned.

Edit: she has a piece in tomorrow's New York Times, that at least for now you can read here.

Edit Again: Apparently Anne Rice had moved away from New Orleans (gasp!). I was not aware of that.
