Also from WWLTV's site:

12:11 P.M. - Army Corps: Water has become level with the Lake in the city so no more water should flow into the city, except at high tide.

As some survivors continue to fight for food and water, Repent America’s director, Michael Marcavage, said that "... this act of God destroyed a wicked city. From ‘Girls Gone Wild’ to ‘Southern Decadence’, New Orleans was a city that opened its doors wide open to the public celebration of sin ... May this act of God cause us all to think about what we tolerate in our city limits, and bring us trembling before the throne of Almighty God."

Read about it here and here - and amazingly quick, here's the urban legend rebuttal.

EDIT: here's the original press release from Repent America.

Officials from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers estimate it will be weeks before all the water that flowed into the city through breached levees can be pumped back out. After that, it will take several years -- and many billions of dollars -- to rebuild homes, offices, streets and highways.

Read it here.

Mirrormask opens in one month - 09/30!

Of course, it only opens in fifteen theaters nationwide, one more the week after, and one more the week after that. So, it'll be the Landmark Act 1 & 2 in Berkeley or the Landmark Lumiere 3 in San Francisco for me.

Side note - it also opens in the Landmark Mayan Theatre in Denver, where I saw The Blair Witch Project before it went to wide release. Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] oursgarou, it does open at the Magnolia (which is where I saw Spirited Away on it's first American release).

Oh, and Neil Gaiman will have two signings in the Bay area - Sept 29th and 30th.

[livejournal.com profile] interdictor is still posting from directnic.com in the central business disctrict of New Orleans, complete with a webcam feed (echoed here). They're still up (obviously), running on a diesel generator.
