The Department of Homeland Security continues to protect us ...

... from Finnish theologians, though it looks like they have their sights set on the acceptability of interdenominational churches.

Veli-Matti Kärkkäinen is a tenured associate professor of systematic theology at Fuller Theological Seminary [in Pasadena, California] and one of the most prominent evangelical theologians in the world, having published important works on pneumatology (the work of the Holy Spirit), Christology, and other subjects. [Kärkkäinen had been a professor at Fuller since 2000, and received his M.A. from Fuller in 1989.]

And now he's back in his native Finland, having been forced out of the country by the Department of Homeland Security.

A seminary must now be directly tied to a single denominational body for the U.S. government to consider it legitimate. Since Fuller is interdenominational, it apparently no longer counts.

Intolerance is alive and well.

A parrot belonging to a Wiccan woman who launched a legal challenge to her town's unconstitutional prayers has been slaughtered in a highly ritualistic manner. Darla Wynne, of Great Falls, South Carolina, came home one night last week to find her parrot, Little One, beheaded with his heart cut out. A note warned her she would be next. It is just the latest in a long series of incidents. Great Falls police have responded to at least 10 calls of reported vandalism at her residence in the past year or so ... vandalism has ranged from destruction of her cars to several of her animals being poisoned ...

"She's had a lot of problems," Great Falls Police Chief Mike Revels said. "But we haven't been able to link anybody to any of the incidents."
