State Farm Automobile Insurance will stop covering losses related to:
a) nuclear reaction;
b) radiation or radioactive contamination from any source; or
c) the accidental or intentional detonation or release of radiation from any nuclear or radioactive device.

You can read about it here.

It's amazing what suits think about at times like this . . . the spokesman for State Farm went on to say: "A nuclear event has the potential to threaten the financial security of an insurance company."

Ah, yes, I'd think it would. I'd also think that anyone close enough to a "nuclear event" to have their car damaged by it would have more than just their financial security threatened.

This is one of those times when the insurance business looks a lot like the local bookie. In their defence, State Farm was one of the few companies that didn't already exclude nuclear events.
