Livejournal has apparently silently reinstated redirecting outbound links through outboundlink-dot-wherever via javascript again; apparently the link information is sent (to outboundlink) when the link is moused over, not just when it's clicked. The reason is so LJ can append their own affiliate code on traffic to certain websites and collect the referral payments.

Unfortunately that means that every external link in any of your entries -- even the locked ones -- is being sent to a third-party site any time someone's mouse glides over it. Makes no difference if you're a paid user or a free user, either.

Discussion -- though no official response -- here: http://news.livejournal.com/124660.html?thread=82434036

More info, including how to turn it off for yourself when logged into LJ, is here: http://antumbral.livejournal.com/167903.html
