Vodka All Around!

SUP (an international online media company founded in Moscow in the summer of 2006) has purchased LiveJournal (LiveJournal, Inc.) from SixApart. More info at the new community [livejournal.com profile] lj_2008.

That Brad seems OK with it kept me from spewing wine all over my keyboard. Still, I've run ljArchive again.

I foresee many folk re-running ljarchive in the next few.

I'll join you for that vodka.

I'm really not sure what to make of all this... Recent events have made me consider getting a backup journal at another site more and more.

OTOH, it could end up being a good thing.

I'm more worried about increased spam and possibly odd malware than anything else -- or having the US government decide we're all security threats because we're posting using a company with ties to Russia.

Good points. I hadn't really thought of that. ^^;;

http://sourceforge.net/projects/ljarchive/

Far from perfect, and I don't think it's been touched in over a year.

So instead of the NSA, it will be the FSB combing through my posts now (the friends-only/private ones, that is; the public ones are obviously public for anyone to comb through, anyway).

The fact that thinking about it, I can't even say whether that's worse probably says a lot... *headshakes*
