Things you see on a morning drive
24 Oct 2008 05:23 pmThis was taken out at Half Moon Bay Airport;
dark_fang and I were sitting outside the Three-Zero Cafe, eating lunch, when this gets trundled out from the hangers ...

That's Eddie Andreini, Jr.'s Yak-9U, the Ottobre Rosso. Together with his father's Yak-9U (the Barbarossa), they make the rounds at various airshows. The Andreinis are residents of Half Moon Bay.

And, no, I'm not that much of a vintage plane geek. Most of that info was cobbled together via the Internet after we got home -- I just thought it was a neat plane when we saw it being towed out, and I had the camera at hand :)
EDIT: The burger at the three-zero was also one of the best burgers I've ever had.
